A journey into the forgotten origins of a nation.
The Bulgarians (2006–2007) is a ten-part documentary following a 30,000-kilometer expedition in search of the roots of the Bulgarian people. Grounded in archaeological and historical research, the series introduced a new perspective on Bulgarian ethnogenesis. Premiering on bTV to massive national interest, it later became a bestseller with nearly 500,000 DVDs sold.

The Bulgarians – Reloaded

“The Bulgarians – Reloaded” is a new 10-episode documentary project that will continue the legacy of The Bulgarians (2006–2007). Through new discoveries, modern technologies, and access to unique artifacts and archives across two continents, the series will explore the origins and hidden history of the Bulgarian people. It will search for the lost tombs of Bulgarian rulers, uncover the fate of stolen Bulgarian treasures, and investigate the mysteries surrounding the three medieval states called Bulgaria in Europe. Production is planned to begin in 2026, and the project is seeking partners and supporters to help realize this ambitious endeavor.

The film received the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the SEE Film Festival in Los Angeles (2019) and was selected as a permanent exhibit at the United States Museum of Tolerance.
